His mother, originally from Malaysia, and his father, a British-Korean, instilled in him a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, values, and traditions. Growing up in Manchester, he experienced a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences that helped shape his character, broaden his worldview, and fuel his curiosity from an early age.
His formative years were marked by a strong focus on academic excellence and a passion for science and innovation. At 18, Mr. Raymond embarked on his higher education journey at the prestigious University of Manchester. His dedication to learning and deep interest in the energy sector led him to pursue advanced studies in Petrochemical Engineering. After several years of rigorous research and academic achievement, he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field, positioning himself as a subject-matter expert in a highly specialized and impactful industry.
With his academic foundation firmly established, Mr. Raymond went on to obtain his status as a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom—an esteemed professional designation that reflects both technical expertise and commitment to excellence in engineering practice.
